one day, a lost, scared, insecure girl
tumbled head over
heels for boy.
who wore sunshine
on his face.
living in under
the whims
of the weather and
the skies
the girl looked
on, in awe
but that shine was
cast too, into other eyes
and like magpies, aren’t we all attracted to shinny, bright things
like moths drawn to the lamp
she fell, and tripped, over her own two feet
he’s taken.taken.taken.
repeat after me.
taken.taken.taken
pull your eyes away from him.
please, stop tearing your heart apart.
over something that’s inevitably not going to happen.
